New Church Electoral Roll

Every six years, we are required to prepare a new church electoral roll and this has to be done before the Annual Parochial Church meeting in April 2025.  This means that everyone who wishes to be on the roll has to reapply, by completing a new application form.

You are eligible to be included on this roll if you have been baptised, are sixteen or over, are a member of the Church of England and live in the Parish of Buxted and Hadlow Down.  If you are not resident in the parish, you are also eligible if you have habitually attended worship in the parish over the last six months, in addition to the other qualifications.

Please remember that PCC members and sidesmen must be on the electoral roll and applications should be received by April 14th if you wish to attend and vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting this year.

Thank you to all those who have completed and returned their forms.  There are forms available in each of the churches for anyone else who wishes to be on the new electoral roll. Please fill in the form and either put in the box in the church, give to a warden, or to Katharine Arratoon, the Electoral Roll Officer. Thank you.

If you have any questions about this, have difficulty in collecting a form or wish to return a form by post, please email: bhdelectoralroll@gmail.com

“Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” With these words, Ash Wednesday observants receive the sign of the cross in ashes on their foreheads, signifying that we have been created from the dust of the earth and symbolizing our mortality and our great need for the grace and eternal life that can only be found in Jesus Christ our Savior.

Dear Friends of the Parish of Buxted & Hadlow Down,
Every 6 years we are required to renew our Electoral Roll. This is your opportunity to identify with the Parish of Buxted & Hadlow Down and allows you to participate in electing Church Wardens and the PCC. You do not need to live within the parish boundaries to register, provided that you habitually worship at one of our parish churches.

The first to enter heaven was a thief. And the first to enter hell was an apostle of Christ. And how all this happened is a great lesson for us. Therefore, one should never despair nor give up on another.
